Question:
I hate reading books. Is that normal, or do I need to work on it?

I love reading the newspaper. I also love reading articles on the internet. But when it comes to reading books, I'd rather watch glue dry. It's a miracle how I passed undergrad in engineering (with bare passing marks). I just can't bring myself around to reading books.

I can't read e-books either. I just hate having to scroll through the interface.

Ironically, I do like reading books in the computer game Skyrim! The interface looks like an actual book. When you move the scroll wheel, there's a neat animation of you flipping through the pages of a book. You can ignore this last paragraph if you haven't played Skyrim or Oblivion.

So, should I consider this a problem and really start working on it? Or is there alternative means? I haven't tried audio-books yet, although I don't see the point. I'd rather play a computer game or watch it as a movie.

I suppose it hearkens back to School where you were forced to read books you had no interest in or were incredibly boring--- Being forced to read"Atlas shrugged", "Catcher in the Rye" or some other esoteric "artistic" "downers" for example. So you developed an aversion to books, associating them with boring stuff and a real chore to read

.

Fortunately, I discovered that there were books in stuff I WAS interested in and read them on my own. I suppose that if you read no interesting books as a youngster, you would continue to not like books into adulthood----You need to find a Genre that you love--Like Sherlock Holmes or Star Trek, etc.----for example and see books as entertainment too.

Probably u just don't encounter the types of books that interest u. I don't much care for reading story-type books either. But I do like reading for information. Maybe u are this way also since u like reading news and articles, but not books.

It's normal. Not much too it. Get an e-book, you may like it better digitaly. With Iphones/Ipads/Nooks, there is a page turning animation as well. You can hightlight things, make bookmarks, and there is a way to make it look like an old book page, by changing the colors.

Good luck!

It is quite normal. Few read to understand and gain concepts and few to just pass exams and few to score good marks. If given a choice, nobody would like to read BUT where would the knowledge come from http://www.jasontranscriptions.com

I spent 12+ hrs an afternoon on the laptop i could no longer take anymore e-e book analyzing until I have been given my Kindle.
