You see the faces all the time, so you learned to do it.
How long does it take to aim a camera and take a picture? A few seconds? Do you really think that these people are sitting there, thinking "hmmmm what kind of face should I make for the camera, what are the pros and cons of making a duckface"....
NO...it's not conscious behavior..it's unconscious automatic behavior that they learned from watching others do it.

In that pic they were just goofing around, but people make the duckface or pout because when done properly it is concidred sexy/alluring.

They either think they're hot, or they think they're not hot and are making an ugly face to seem like they don't care.
