I'll elaborate on the question "Action films why do we see them?" Yes I know that we go and see them because they are full of explosions, fighting, gun fight, car chases, ect.. BUT why do we go and see them? Are there any psychological reason why we go and see them? Do the directors target something in the brain that makes us want to go and see them? Possibly something psychological? Also are there things in action films that get the testosterone pumping in men and women (or is it estrogen in women)? Is it because action films give us a sort of fantasy with heroes and villains or just people to look up too? Do we go and see them because subconsciously this is how men think they are supposed to be? Do we go see them because this is the image that has been given to men to represent, just like models somehow convince good looking women and skinny women that they are ugly and need to be thinner and skinnier? I'm looking for other reasons besides the fact that we, men and women, like explosions, fantasy, shootings, car chases, fights, heroes, villains, and all those other things that we as normal people can't really have or do in real life.

I'm trying to find out this information because I am doing a presentation on high testosterone films and what makes us go see them and what they key reflectors are in them. I'm looking for any and all help professional or non. Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated!! Thank You Everyone!! :)

Several reasons and not all apply to any one individual.

Some want to be part of a fast paced world and life for a few hours.

Some enjoy the adrenaline rush action and even horror produces.

Some are just drawn to action and excitement (no other reason will such as the two above).

Some are taken with the stories that lead up to the action and aren't really paying any attention to the action at all.

I am betting there are many more, but that's all I can think of at the mo.

We normally don't have so many moments in life to feel "awesome". The movie industry, today, tries it's hardest with action films (especially those of comic heroes), to make the viewer feel "in the movie". I worked in the film industry just for a bit, and got to see how they work. How these filmmakers target their audiences, and they admit it, is to make the viewer feel they are apart of the action. And it's even more so, that these types of movies will be seen by people who read similar kinds of comics (They know it, too). This is how they work to get that person's money, by bringing them into a world of "awesomeness/ action".

Look into the role of the average man within our society today. Before, men and women hunted. Men needed values like courage to survive daily. However, we live in a more cushioned society. Food is everywhere and so is sex, and secretly (although thankful) we are bored. So we look for action packed films, t.v. shows, and video games to replace the past, because we would never want to go back.

Also, look into the idealistic factor of what we watch as children and what is widely popular. When I was a kid, all the boys played Dragon Ball Z in elementary school. In high school, all they talked about were super hero movies. These feel an idealistic need we have as well.

I remember some women going to see these kinds of films to impress men because men often complain when women want to see romantic comedies. However, I have seen women enjoy these films because they too feel empowered by the action just like men do. This plays into the social gender roles women and men have in societies. There are women with the need to be fulfilled in the same sense of men, for reasons of equality, so they follow the normal standards of men in today's society. They don't want to be subjected to the secondary role or held back as a "woman". Not that all women who enjoy these kinds of films are trying to prove a point of some kind apart from liking the movie

These movies are made on a male standard, so they are considered "cool" to see for the various reasons.

whats up. nicely, i've got considered some stay action right here and there. an outstanding form of the stuff i've got considered contain Drama, not something too action-based or something: a million). Casshern: Very atypical, and complicated to maximum folk earlier each and every little thing sight. i did not watch the unique 70's anime, yet I nevertheless style of have been given the storyline. Casshern Sins (maximum recent anime installment) seems to persist with up on the stay-action movie. 2). Honey and Clover: i individually enjoyed the stay-action lots greater useful. in case you have not heard of it, it is approximately quite a few third-twelve months college paintings pupils making their way in the direction of the twelve months, somewhat getting by means of on food, funds, and heck, even paintings initiatives. 3). Nodame Cantabile: One approximately song college. fairly humorous. the two stay and lively have been good. 4). manhattan Love tale: Hilarious! I observed quite a few episodes at an anime convention. worth my time. XD 5). a million Liter of tears: unhappy....in reaction to a real tale. 6). Kimi Wa Petto. based on the manga: Tramps Like Us. The stay-action tutor became into fairly good. 7). city Hunter. Now, i understand this became into not produced by means of the unique writer of the anime (it is a chinese language stay-action adaption). terrible. The celebrity, Jackie Chan even hated it himself. okay, those have been those i will bear in mind.....listed under are some I plan to confirm: a million). MPD PSYCHO: seems awful (it is a detective horror movie), yet i am going with to observe it. 2). chinese language Ghost tale 3). great Inframan (purely for the heck of it. Sorry for the record, i'm in simple terms putting down stuff I watched. maximum of them are incredibly, incredibly good.....the sole exception is city Hunter. The anime is relatively humorous, however the stay-action movie is a shaggy dog tale. nya nya
