1. Living with divorced parents: Child must live part of the time with one of the parents and both parents have nothing good to say about each other.

2. Living with parents practising open marriage: Open marirage is defined as a marriage in which the partners agree that each is free to engage in extramarital relationships. Mother sleeps with boyfriend in the house and the father does it too with his girlfriend.

I think number 2 is worse. Because the boundaries in a relationship are not clearly defined.



The first is an immature yet quite common reaction to a relationship breaking down. So the fact that it is quite common makes support from fellow peers more likely to be found.



Whereas the second option causes even more confusion in a child than the first. I have met drug addicts and well quite "loose" people who have experienced the second.



The first usually just have a few problems while they are young but they slowly normalise to a certain degree it seems.



In both cases children are likely develop mental illness.
