I am deathly afraid of most bugs, but most flying ones and beetles (especially flying beetles, like the japanese beetle and such.) I have gym class outside during the summer and my school is pretty much infested with those suckers, and I can't handle it anymore. I started crying during class today and I start running and screaming involuntarily when one comes near me. It's embarrassing and I have such bad anxiety about going to class now because of the bugs. Please help me.

You can go to a psychologist to find the root of your fear and get help to overcome it. Maybe you could buy plastic bugs and look at them idk say to yourself that they're not going to eat you or anything like that. That you're bigger than them and you can squish them. I would also stay away from movies that have big bugs on them. Aside from that, you can try hypnosis. I might work. But as for now, the best thing you can do is keep yourself busy and distracted with something else. You've been thinking way too much about bugs. Even making this question, to which I'm sure you'll come back to to read the replies, is making you think about them. So think about something else, go to the movies, get busy doing your work, etc.

I actually have the same fear, but they're ONLY butterflies. So many people just laugh at me because I'll be deathly afraid of one flying around outside. Just put bug repellent on and find a place where they'll be less bugs around,
