is it human nature to find the more attractive good looking person. or is it social evolution i.e. the glamorizing of models and the big **** small waist concept that has lead us to think like this?

i thinks its human nature, social evolution made us glamorize it but if people didn't want that then they couldn't glamorize it. but everybody has their own idea of what is beautiful or what attracts them. i know several example when me and my boys are talking about women and my boy may think that a particular female looks good but i may think she's ugly, so i have to believe that its human nature that make us want those extremely attractive people we see on t.v.

I actually just saw a documentary on the science channel or something about this. What they said is when we first meet someone we are calculating everything about them in the most primal areas of the mind. Our minds cover everything from smell, proportions, and facial symmetry. They do this to tell if the person we meet will be an acceptable mate. It's completely on a primal level. Based on this subconscious decision we are either attracted or not.

both

we seek the more attractive mate because subconsciously we see the traits we know would, when mixed with ours, create offspring that can thrive modern society

but also society tells us what to think is attractive
