Why don't I ever study?

I know this question is going to sound whiny and stupid, but I am so mad at myself. I have potential to be a good student, but I never study and always make failing grades on my tests in college.

I'm so embarrassed about it too. I hate telling people that I made a 43 on my music history test. I LOVE music, btw. I don't know what's wrong with me, but I'm a senior in college and STILL cannot make myself study without feeling extremely depressed and hopeless in the process. I can't bring myself to read anything assigned. I can't even read news articles unless they truly interest me.

Think of it this way, you don't study, you don't pass your test, you don't pass your test, you fail your class, you fail your class, you don't graduate, you don't graduate you won't get your career, you don't get your career you will disappoints your parents and yourself.

Honestly, i know college comes out of my pocket, if not my pocket then from my moms, i don't want her to waste of money on me if i'm failing. That is my motivator, if i don't finish college i will disappoint my mom and i won't get my career and get a stable job.

Try to a motivator to make you study and pass.

Hmm.. okay the reason for not studying is because either you don't want to study or maybe your lazy & that my friend has to be changed right away. If you have the patential to become a great student, then why throw it away with the lack of studying? That's not good. & if your embarrassed & hate telling people about the horrible grade that you got. Then change it! Change that 43 to a more & improved grade. Then when you see that studing was only thing you had to do then you will be greatful that you made that change. Its a valuable lesson learned. Good luck with your studys & your career!

Well, have you ever thought that maybe what you were studying is boring you? Music for you may be a great hobby or pastime, but would you really want to major in it? I've taken piano for 7 years, and it's not just about pounding those keys. There's theory, and all sorts of technicalities in musical composition.

So ask yourself, WHAT interests you? it may be surprising because one person can alter that view of what interests you. For example, a friend of mine went to college to become a Vet, but ONE single teacher changed his entire life by exposing him to geology. He graduated with a degree in geology and is now successfully running his own lab.

Because your like almost every teen, we don't like studying because we lack a good work ethic. Nerd= bad, retarded class clown= good, but in reality who ends up like Bill gates? So Just think about passing that's what i do. i studied for my AP calculus test and i thought i did horrible, i got a B+ and math is my very worst subject. Plus i learned quickly studying is a key to passing college.

You're not motivated. What do you want to do after you graduate? Think of the ability to make more money and to get whatever you wanted be it a nice house, cars, etc...
