I have a diagnosis of Bipolar(manic depression). Two psychiatrists have told me i have the condition. The first to tell me was my usual psychiatrist(a female doctor) who i have been seeing for approx 3 years. The second was another psychiatrist who is covering for her at the moment while she is on maternity leave. He told me i have Bipolar aswell and that it is quite clear-cut.I have times that i doubt the diagnosis but i don't know why.It is highly unlikely that two psychiatrists are wrong but is it possible that these two doctors are wrong? Thanks

Understand what you are. Know what your problems are and don't give much importance to what bi polar is. I ask you to understand your problem, because you can not run away from your problems. Or choosing not to face them is also not correct. But you may avoid taking medicines if you can handle it without medicines. If it is too much and the medicines gives you a relief then take medicines.

The medicines can not cure you of any kind of mind problems. But medicines can be palliative and some times it can buy time to cure the problem itself without getting things out of hand.

These kind of problems are not chemical imbalances either as commonly thought. All these problems start with blockages of your bio energy. Freud had related every problem to some kind of sexual repression . To a great extend this is correct. If your energy can flow freely through the sex channels a great deal of problems get eliminated there itself. but we human beings have put a lot of restrictions and it has damaged the internal circuits. And if a person lives in a state for a prolonged period , his body forms accordingly and it is very difficult to change. Learn meditation and over a period of time it can cure you.

I think that you need to take these doctors seriously, however, you have a perfect right to get a third opinion. I think that asking many questions to the doctor you have would help you to understand better. Insist on explanations about what ever is on your mind. If you are still not convinced, then I think that you need to go to another doctor. I think that it is good that you are challenging your doctors and trying to find out the truth.

it relatively is quite, very not likely that they are incorrect. Bipolar ailment has been heavily studied for some years, and the guidelines are particularly sparkling-cut back. and needless to say, no one needs to settle for one among those prognosis. there continues to be that nasty social physique of recommendations in direction of those with psychological ailment. it relatively is unlucky that maximum human beings who do not themselves have such a controversy are so profoundly ignorant, yet it relatively is the way it relatively is. One has to ignore with reference to the social stigma and follow pronounced medical care, consisting of the prescribed drugs, with a view to have the skill to function in society. No, the docs are actually not incorrect.

Yes. No one is perfect. Always challenge, research and find more opinions. Never just sit on idol and be gullible to any and every kind of information.

Sure. The first doctor may have misdiagnosed you, and the second doctor may have read your chart completed by the first doctor.
