most haunted...anybody else call into question their validity?

If you are totally sceptic, I totally respect your views, as I believe some people are receptive to the paranormal and some our not, I think this could be genetic. However, I am a "sensetive" and live in a cottage in Ayrshire that is, I belive, visited by a former occupant who loved living here. She does'nt "haunt" , merely returns to her former home which I know she loved, and gives me an approval to the renovations that I have done. I will not enlarge on this any father than this at this stage, but I do intend to publish my full experiences to "Yahoo" soon. However, it has revived my interest into the paranormal in general, so I have been watching vaious programmes including "Most Haunted" on TV. I am both impressed and dimayed at the way the programme is displayed. Without doubt Daivid Wells is a gifted man. Therefore why does he condone the use of the Oujia Board" when he knows full well that this only lays access to lower level entities.

I actually do believe in the paranormal and think that there are some people who are exceptionally gifted at mediumship - I too would be put in the "sensative" category - a medium actually said that I had the gift and that dearly departed friends and family actually think that I know they are there - I don't dwell on this as I would $hit myself if I encountered one face to face....



I too am really annoyed with Most Haunted and I am now beginning to know the script with regards to the majority of them who participate....David Wells, I happen to believe is genuine and I can't help but notice that he also looks exasperated with some of the suggestions that are put to him....I do watch it just for the entertainment side of things now but there are some really good programmes out there who do validate, live, what they are doing every step of the way - they use head cameras, have trigger object everywhere, don't use a medium and they take lots and lots of photographs.



I also love the psycic detective series and anything like sixth sense with Colin Fry.

I have long been a believer in the paranormal and am very open minded about the whole subject. I love John Edward from the US and have seen Colin Fry at a live show but am afraid was left literally cold after leaving his performance.



I have seen Derek Acorah live twice and each time his evening has left me feeling very up beat, positive and with a literally warm glow about me, I did not get a reading.



Now as to Most Haunted when it first started and Derek was on their the program was believable had atmosphere and certainly frightened me at times. Then there was a lot of "hoohaa" about the validity of Derek which I think was generated by the production company Ms Fielding and her husband I believe being the owners. Then Derek left. Since they have revamped it I feel it has become an "entertainment show" as you say David Wells is definately genuine and good at what he does but once the tv people get hold of things it all goes down hill.



I am afraid I would call into question most of what I have seen on there these days. Its a shame because there are a lot of genuine sensitive people out there doing good work as mediums and helping people and I dont think Most Haunted assists in the reputation of the spiritual side of life at all these days.

I'm not too sure that I believe in ghosts and I find it hard to believe this program, but I do believe that buildings have a general feeling about them! Our house when I was a child had a very peaceful feel as if it's previous occupants had always been happy, there. My brother now owns it and it still feels the same! Even my sister in law who is a total sceptic feels it!!

I agree about the Ouija Board and the lower entities though. I hate them things. Ever since I was young they have frightened me, if I'm present when someone is using one I ALWAYS know what will be spelt out and I'm not even taking part!!!! As kids we played around with one a lot using a glass and a circle of letters, this stopped the day my sister said "This is a load of Rubbish!" The glass flew off the table and hit her forehead! I've never put my finger on one since BUT the 'knowing' started after this incident! Funny but it doesn't work through the TV!!!!

I watched Most Haunted when it first started and continue to watch now and again the live shows.



When Derek was on and we were new to the show it was frightening and atmospheric, David Wells was just a back up then. In one episode Yvette was questionning David and he announced that he did not get voices just symbolism in his head.

Carl and Stewart by their body language and behaviour come across as fakers and are always hanging about of side of the camera when things are thrown. I became skeptical.



Ciaran the parapsychologist doesnt pander to the teams whims and if you watch him closely you will see him try to smother sniggers when they are playing up.



Then Derek left, Gordon Smith a well renowed spiritualist from Scotland stood in. He only played along for a short season and left abruptly, which ignited my skepticism. I felt that he didn't agree with what they were doing and so he couldn't be part of it.



Then of course David Wells had to stand in and now all of a sudden he can hear voices, see things and get possessed. I appreciate he could hone his spiritual skills but to progress up to this level within a short space of time is too unbelievable.



The team obviously choose to ignore his annoucement from that previous young episode and hope others will too, but in my mind at worse he is a fake, at best he has a limited phsyic ability which he and the team are exploiting to their own ends.



Now when my husband and myself sit to watch an episode it is for entertainment value and to pick holes in it as they have done themselves.



When you watch the show from this angle it is quiet comical, which is a shame because they have all brought an age old gift into disrepute.

i do believe a lot of what they say but when dereck accorah was on it it really did look as tho he was acting alot of the time and i did question alot more it then that i do now
