diagnostic and statics manual fourth edition. And actualy the newst edition is the DSM IVR, meaning that it has been revised by the American Psychological Association.

it is the diagnostic and statistical manual, 4th revision, as stated by others. But nobody else said, it's a good question. The DSM-IV is used to "diagnose" people with mental health problems: so that, hopefully s/he can get the right treatment and also so that they can submit a code for insurance billing and reimbursement. Psychiatrists and therapists and social workers and courts use these codes to communicate info about their clients or patients. The DSM-IV is the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 4th Edition. If you used it, you might find out that you have 315.2, a disorder of written expression. "Mean" is not spelled "meen."

The Diagnostic Statistical Manual 4 - It has a list of all mental disorders, with their characteristics. Since new disorders are added frequently enough to our psychological theories, it shows the most recent ones, up to date. That is why the serial number of this list is 4.
