Question:
How do you work with a team that doesn't have the same thinking or understanding as yours?

I enrolled late in college and I got the worst people in my team. If I would have known that they were so ignorant earlier, I would have gotten myself a new team.

Please don't call me selfish or anything but I exerted so much effort and time to make them work as a group.... But stil, I ended up doing all the activities.

They keep on promising to do their work but they never do it. They're so carefree about everything. They never volunteer to do any work.

Heck, I want to pass and graduate early. It's like I never care anymore about them. An oral defense will be held 2 weeks from now... and I'm really worried how my team would present the dissertation.

Any advice on my situation? Am I bad and ineffective leader?

Sorry about your problem, we all have been in this situation. You can't allow them to bring you down to their level. It happens all the time in any type of team projects. You are going to have to do the best you can despite all the negatives. No matter what happens in the end result, I think you will be recognized for your efforts. If you carry the team and all get a decent grade, so be it.

You can also try some team building exercises that may or may not help but it is worth a try. Here is one I found, but there are plenty out there. Just search for team building exercises.

If they're not helping you can tell the professor that you did all the work and they didn't bother to help out or ask the professor if you can do the assignment alone since your team isn't cooperating.

You try at first and if you cannot succeed then leave them to their own devices. Let some people deal with their own ways through other means.
