Should I take an intro philosophy course if I plan on being a psych major?

I'm working on my schedule for next semester and there is an honors intro to philosophy class being offered. I'm not officially a psychology major yet, but I'm pretty sure it's what I will be doing, I'm in the introduction to general psychology class right now and I'm taking existential psych next semester. So would it be good for me to take philosophy? I'm not really sure how much the two relate.

Well actually they are related in that they both attempt to seek out a lot of the same questions about people and life, just from different angles.

And sometimes people find that philosophy actually answers the questions better than what they thought psychology would, and actually switch majors. As a psych major I love philosophy because it does answer the questions in a way that psychology just can't, but I still continue with psych because it's more practical and I would prefer to work with people.
...and the crowd goes wild!

Sure, I was a psych major and took a few philosophy classes too. The classes dont really correlate though. They are different subjects, so there is a separate pattern of thought to each. Psych is more "how we think", and philosophy is like "why are we here".

Yes. Once you earnestly start, gradually everything will be clearly known.

It is like this. If one wants to learn swimming, he should plunge into waters and then learn. He cannot learn by standing on the banks of the river (or swimming pool). Swimming is learnt by practice, but not theoretically by reading only.

I would look more for a sociology class. The two have several common key factors that are based on early developmental stages.

Does your college no longer grant AP Psychology, using fact i understand that maximum extreme faculties do. in the event that they do grant that classification, truthfully take it as a replace of usual Psychology using fact it is going to likely be lots extra helpful. you will be able to ought to retake it in college, when you consider which you would be majoring in Psychology, yet you would be o.k. arranged your first year of faculty. attempt to take some biology/ chemistry appropriate classification besides, using fact it is going to likely be efficient to have a good historic past in those aspects of technology. in case you do no longer decide directly to take Trig and Stats on the comparable time, take one each year, using fact they are the two needed. in the adventure that your college grants sociology, take that besides using fact it relatively is fairly lots concerning to psychology. the different social sciences courses would be helpful besides.
